A development team presented a concept plan for a new multi-tenant retail building at the northwest corner of Weber Road and Renwick Road, describing an 11,254-square-foot building that could accommodate up to seven tenants depending on leasing.
"The building could accommodate up to 7 tenants, but the actual number of tenants will depend on future leasing," the presenter said, adding that the building would be masonry with a variety of accent materials and projections, and that landscaping, signage and lighting will be reviewed during the final development plan stage. The proposal includes 83 parking spaces and a drive-through end cap on the south end to accommodate a restaurant and outdoor dining.
The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the concept plan on Jan. 13 and provided input. A commission representative told the board the commission had asked a few questions about knee walls and sidewalk connections and that those issues had been resolved between the village and the developer prior to concept review. Final development-plan review is expected this winter and spring, with construction likely in spring or summer if approvals proceed on schedule.
Board members welcomed the investment while noting it was too early to discuss potential tenants. The village said staff and the development team will continue to answer questions as the project moves to final review.
