During the public-comment period on March 17, resident Anthony Dewey told the Radcliff City Council he is effectively unable to use his golf cart to reach stores because several local streets are listed as prohibited for golf-cart operation and because the city's permit and inspection process imposes a $25 fee compared with the state's $5 inspection.
Dewey said roads that block his routes include Wilson Road, Morgan South, Shelton Road, Hill Street, Elm Road and others; he argued that many of those streets are posted at 25–35 mph and asked the council to reconsider the local restrictions. He also raised concerns about the slow-moving-vehicle signage required by the ordinance and about how the city's website lacked recent agendas and minutes.
Mayor JJ Duvall and staff responded that the city’s $25 permit is for the local permit—distinct from a state inspection—and that the permit is tied to specific equipment and safety checks done locally. The mayor and staff acknowledged the website update work and said postings would be restored as the city finishes a site refresh and consolidates materials.
Council members thanked Dewey for raising the issues; any ordinance changes or enforcement clarifications would require staff review and possible amendment to the local code.
