At its meeting, the McAlester City Council approved routine and consent items along with a subdivision replat and a licensing agreement with the American Red Cross for swim training.
The council approved the consent agenda (items B through F) and approved amended meeting minutes.
The council also approved a replat for the Steven W. Taylor Industrial Park to reorganize city-owned lots (creating parcels such as C-1A and C-7A/B) so the city can record the plat and proceed with property transactions. Planning staff noted the replat had been recommended by the planning commission.
Council authorized the mayor to sign a license agreement with the American Red Cross to operate swim lessons. Community services staff said last year enrollment was about 45–50 participants and that under the agreement typical participation is expected to remain below 200, with a documented maximum of 300 in the agreement language; staff said more instructors would be needed if participation scaled upward.
The council recessed to convene the Airport Authority, Public Works Authority and Economic Development Authority to approve minutes (11/25/2025) and confirm council actions; each authority returned votes confirming the actions and adjourned.
All motions described above carried as recorded in the council roll calls.
