Ben Morrison Memorial Fund highlights scholarships and facility-dog program for Loveland students

Tori Morrison, founder of the Ben Morrison Memorial Fund, presented a year-end recap to the Loveland City Board of Education and introduced facility dogs now placed in district buildings.
Morrison said the fund’s mission is to "erase the stigma of mental health, start conversations, and support lifelines to help save the lives of young people in crisis." She told the board the fund has awarded roughly $41,500 in scholarships at Loveland High School, recorded 167 'Bensway' recipients, and expanded into a thirteenth school across eight districts.
Morrison introduced Rory, the Loveland Middle School facility dog, and noted Odin serves at the high school. Board members and Superintendent Broadwater thanked volunteers, staff and the foundation for training and supporting the dogs. Broadwater said the district has three facility dogs in the district now and praised the work of staff volunteers.
The program is intended to support student well-being through presence-based interventions and community outreach; training and supervision of staff handlers were cited as part of program implementation.
