Aitkin board approves routine motions: agenda, policies, consent items, election judges and iPad refresh

At its March meeting the Aitkin Public School Board approved the meeting agenda, several policies (second reading), the consent agenda, a Minnesota Department of Education review acceptance for a referendum plan, election judge appointments for the April special election, committee assignments and a 2026 iPad refresh.
The Aitkin Public School Board approved several routine but consequential items at its March 10 meeting.
The board approved the meeting agenda by voice vote, then moved to adopt policies (second reading) numbered 306, 606, 712 and 722; the motion passed with all members voting yes. The consent agenda was approved by unanimous voice vote.
Under new business, the board accepted the Minnesota Department of Education’s review and comment on the district’s proposed building project, a procedural step ahead of the April referendum. The board also approved a resolution appointing election judges for the April 14 special election.
Administratively, the board approved committee assignments for the 2026 calendar year and approved a scheduled 2026 iPad/device refresh (part of a four-year replacement rotation) to be funded from capital-projects accounts so devices can be configured over the summer and re-sold devices recovered for resale value.
Each motion passed unanimously as recorded in the meeting minutes.
