At the March meeting the McAlester City Council approved several routine items and payments as part of scheduled business.
The consent agenda was approved by motion (Councilor Boatwright moved; Councilor Stone seconded) and carried on a unanimous roll-call vote. The council also approved acceptance of pay application No. 2 from Low Construction for the Mullen Park improvements in the amount of $52,551. Staff recommended the payment after reviewing completed work and recommended the payout as a second partial payment.
Separately, staff recommended acceptance of the Steven Taylor Industrial Park sewer improvement project as complete and authorization of final pay application No. 5 to Capital LLC for $74,976.25. Paul, a project representative, briefed the council and staff recommended acceptance; the council approved the recommendation by roll-call vote.
All votes on these items were recorded as affirmative by the roll-call clerk. No additional conditions or amendments were recorded on the council floor during these items.
Why it matters: These approvals fund contractor progress and close out a completed sewer project, allowing final billing and contract closeout processes to proceed.
What comes next: Staff will process payments and complete contract closeout paperwork.
