Artist Guild to repaint festival benches at Buttercup; board backs a pilot and logistics plan

"They were painted as part of a grant," the advisory committee member said, asking to pilot a live-art repainting at the festival and for Public Works help with removal, transport and reinstallation. The Artist Guild told the board it had some leftover paint from the prior grant and proposed a small-scale event (3— minutes per bench) limited to participants aged 8 and older.
Board members supported the concept, suggested using more durable sealing methods (concrete or permanent sealed paint) if the pilot shows demand, and asked staff to coordinate logistics (bolting, transport, public-works assistance and safety).
Next steps: Committee to coordinate with Public Works and festival organizers, pilot the repaint at Buttercup and report back on durability and community response.
