Commission recommends approval to reduce drainage easement at 2981 Stuart Campbell Point

The Planning Commission voted Feb. 9 to forward ADM 1973-2025 to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen with a favorable recommendation to reduce the southern drainage easement at 2981 Stuart Campbell Point from 20 feet to 10 feet.
Staff explained the request was to enable a homeowner to install a swimming pool; public-works staff reviewed the proposal and concluded that, because adjoining properties have dedicated easements, reducing the subject easement would not create stormwater or maintenance-access problems. Staff said it will continue to monitor the situation as properties develop.
The commission's formal role is advisory; staff recommended forwarding the request to BOMA, and a commissioner moved to favorably recommend ADM 1973-2025. The motion carried on a recorded vote of 7–0.
The planning commission noted the easement is already dedicated to the city and that only BOMA can take final action to vacate or reduce a dedicated easement.
