At its March 5, 2026 regular meeting, the Bossier Parish School Board approved a $1,500 one‑time supplement for eligible elementary bookkeepers, updated a K–8 instructional coach job description, granted a leave without pay, approved a trip request and voted to enter an executive session for legal counsel.
The Bossier Parish School Board on March 5 approved a set of routine personnel and program items and voted to move into executive session to receive legal advice.
The board approved a one‑time supplement of $1,500 for full‑time elementary school bookkeepers, a measure presented by Chief Financial Officer Nisha Bamberg. "This year, we're proposing $1,500, as their payment to be paid, in June," Bamberg said, noting the supplement is limited to full‑time support staff who carry bookkeeping responsibilities.
Board members then approved an update to the K–8 instructional coach job description. "I'm bringing to you tonight the updated instructional coach job description," Terry Howe, director of human resources, told the board, saying the revision modernizes antiquated verbiage ahead of planned postings.
A leave without pay request for Sarah Kate Thompson was presented by Superintendent Jason Rollins and approved after Rollins stated his recommendation. When asked, Rollins replied, "I approved it, sir." The board also approved a routine trip request during the same session.
Finally, the board voted to enter executive session "to receive a legal opinion from its counsel pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statute 42:17 and Louisiana Code of Evidence Article 506," the chair said. The motion to go into executive session carried on a voice vote.
All measures were approved by voice vote during the business portion of the meeting; motions and seconding members were recorded in the minutes. The board moved into executive session at the close of the items listed on the agenda.
