Spring Hill board asks Williamson County to base third Williamson Health ambulance in city

The Spring Hill Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Dec. 1 voted 8-0 to request Williamson Health and Williamson County place a third ambulance unit in the city. The resolution (25-274), as amended, directs staff to distribute copies to the eight county commissioners who represent Spring Hill.
Chief Temple told the board that Spring Hill houses two county transport units, Medic 16 and Medic 17, and that Station 4 was built with bunk rooms and space intended to host an additional unit. "We need another EMS transport unit," Chief Temple said, noting daily first-responder activity typically ranges from seven to 10 calls and the city has seen a 4–7% annual increase in call volume.
A Williamson Health paramedic, Alderman Werner, said he and colleagues have seen the operational strain firsthand and supported adding a third unit. Board members emphasized the benefit would extend beyond Spring Hill: Vice Mayor Linville said placing an ambulance at Station 4 would reduce response times both in Spring Hill and adjacent county areas.
Mayor Fitter moved an amendment directing staff to send the resolution to the eight Williamson County commissioners representing Spring Hill; the amendment passed by voice vote and the resolution then passed 8-0. Vice Mayor Linville moved the measure and Alderman Murray seconded.
The board recorded the outcome as 8 to 0 in favor. The resolution authorizes staff to pursue discussion with Williamson Health and the county; final placement and funding decisions remain with Williamson County and Williamson Health.
