She proposed a 0.46 FTE equivalent (about 960 hours for the primary) and said she would manage staffing levels based on need and would post openings for 10 days as required.
Supervisors asked about recruitment and union implications; Scaff said the positions would be posted, she had discussed concerns with human resources, and temps would not receive health insurance, sick or vacation benefits but would be paid comparable hourly wages. The board voted to approve the 0.46 FTE staffing (recorded as 5-0).
The auditor will proceed to post the positions and manage hires for the primary election; she said she will evaluate similar changes for the general election.
