Board members highlight contest, thank staff and adjourn meeting

"We've had over 80 submissions so far in the essay and art categories, and we're looking forward to more," Davis said, and gave "a shout out" to Davina Southhowfar, identified in the remarks as a media specialist, for coordinating entries.
The board chair acknowledged the update and said the board was pleased to see student participation. At another point during the comments period, a board member thanked leadership and staff for their work during the recent legislative session. Member Earl also praised staff, saying it was "easy to get answers and... follow-up" when questions arose during the session.
After member comments, the chair asked for a final motion. A motion to adjourn was made and seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote and the chair declared the meeting adjourned.
The meeting record does not include a roll-call vote or a recorded tally for the adjournment motion; the outcome was a voice vote in favor of adjourning.
