Council scheduled a workshop to review a technical capacity evaluation of the city's water reclamation facility and approved a separate Tetra Tech proposal to prepare the Florida Department of Environmental Protection permit renewal packet.
City Manager Keith Touchberry explained the city contracted with Tetra Tech in October to evaluate facility operations and to provide design basis material for future upgrades. Staff recommended a workshop so council could review flow projections, infrastructure needs and implications for future development.
Council voted to schedule the workshop for March 27 at 1 p.m. (with alternate dates available) to allow staff, Tetra Tech and department directors to discuss the findings in depth. Council emphasized the desire to have the city's water director and deputy director available for the session.
Separately, the council approved Tetra Tech's proposal for engineering services to prepare the wastewater reclamation facility permit renewal (FDEP FL0020541) in the amount of $124,819. Staff noted the permit expires May 31, 2027, and that the application and associated fee must be submitted in advance. The motion to approve the contract passed 5–0.
Next steps: staff will host the workshop to present findings and timeline, and Tetra Tech will begin preparations for the permit submittal and supporting documentation.
