The council unanimously approved the consent calendar (items 4a–4e) on a single motion and roll call vote.
On a presentation from Finance Director Chris Petlock, the council discussed revenue and expense conditions through January 2026. Petlock said the most recent forecast included a 10% sales-tax reduction (roughly $850,000–$1,000,000) as a year-end projection and noted that 'sales tax is volatile.' After questions about outside services and timing of planned expenditures, the council moved to accept the general fund revenue and expense report; the motion carried on roll call.
The council also considered a proposed formal policy for the town’s annual Citizen of the Year nomination and selection process. Assistant Town Manager Rebecca Vaughn described the policy’s intent to formalize nominations, open selection to public submissions, and set a clear timeline for recognition ahead of July 4. Council directed three changes before approval: honorees must be Corte Madera residents, the previous year’s winner will serve as a tiebreaker or additional committee member, and staff will set an appropriate nomination window (three-week target this year). On a motion with the noted modifications the policy was approved by the council.
Next steps: Accepted reports will be posted to the town website. Staff will implement the Citizen of the Year timeline and selection committee work for the 2026 cycle.
