Participants consistently prioritized more multipurpose space, additional study rooms, expanded children’s areas and more quiet space — findings staff say align with operational observations and previous outreach dating back to 2022. Ryan said the team will host library tours and an open house on April 23 to broaden engagement.
Staff aim to bring a formal proposal to the library board in June. If the board recommends placing a funding measure on the fall ballot, the city would need to consider final language and any council approvals no later than early August to meet election timelines.
Ryan emphasized the process seeks to reflect community needs through robust engagement and said staff will return with the board’s recommendation and next steps.
