Boulder City agency approves reimbursement for Tom Boulder Inn fire-alarm upgrades

Fusukjian estimated the work would cost approximately $9,846 and said Ferrell would be eligible to receive up to $2,954 after the project is completed. Fusukjian also said the redevelopment agency’s fiscal-year 2025 budget for commercial grants is $350,000 and that the agency previously approved four projects with total reimbursements of $29,260.
An agency member asked whether staff verifies that the work is done before paying reimbursements and how quickly funds are disbursed. Fusukjian said applicants must document completion and that he typically inspects and photographs the completed work before releasing reimbursement: “Part of the process is once the work is completed, the applicant is required… I usually go out and take pictures and make sure that it's been documented and that the work that was stated is completed before the reimbursement goes out,” he said. He added that applicants have up to one year from approval to complete the work but that the city fire inspector had indicated the replacement should be done immediately for safety reasons.
A motion to approve the resolution that would provide the reimbursement was moved by an agency member and seconded by the City Clerk. The Chair called the question and the agency approved the measure unanimously; the transcript records the outcome as unanimous but does not list individual votes or a roll-call tally. Under the approved arrangement, the owner may be reimbursed up to the stated amount after staff documents and verifies completion of the replacement alarm system and confirms code compliance with the Boulder City Fire Department. The meeting adjourned after a second public-comment period produced no speakers.
