The Union County Public Schools Policy Committee voted Wednesday, March 17, 2026, to forward three revised policies — 3-32, 4-21 and 5-01 — to the full board for consideration at the board’s April meeting, the committee chair announced.
Miss Elliott, a district staff member, told the committee that policies 3-32 and 4-21 are companion policies and that edits were made “for title 9 compliance purposes.” She said those two policies were presented for first review by the committee in February and to the full board in March and that staff had received no stakeholder feedback since those presentations. Miss Elliott also said policy 5-01 (selection of instructional materials) was edited for statutory compliance and likewise requested that it be included on the April consent agenda for board approval.
The committee moved and seconded a motion to take policy 3-32, policy 4-21 and policy 5-01 to the full board at the April meeting; the motion was approved by voice vote. The committee did not record a roll-call vote in the transcript; the motion was approved on voice.
The policies were presented to the committee as noncontroversial, procedural items intended to align district policies with applicable legal requirements. The staff presentation noted no stakeholder feedback had been received following earlier first-review presentations to the committee and board.
The committee chair closed the meeting by scheduling the next policy committee meeting for April 21, 2026, at 8 a.m. via Zoom and then adjourning the session.
What happens next: The three policies will appear on the Union County Public Schools board consent agenda in April for final board action.
