Carla Segura, real property manager, asked the board to accept transfer of a roughly 1-acre parcel from the Martin County Community Redevelopment Agency and to conditionally approve its surplus designation and sale to the Village of Indiantown for government or recreational purposes at an offered price of $275,000.
Segura explained the parcel was foreclosed in 2011, acquired by the CRA and later became surplus after the Indiantown CRA dissolved in 2018. Staff obtained an appraisal in April indicating a $310,000 value; the Village of Indiantown submitted an appraisal of $275,000 and will fund the purchase from its half-cent sales-tax funds for local recreation. Village manager Krista described plans to expand adjacent recreation fields and said the village had hoped for a donation but understood the parcel must be sold.
The board voted unanimously to accept the transfer and conditionally approve a sale at $275,000, with staff to finalize a conditional contract and return for final approval as necessary.
