Boulder City board unanimously approves two special-event gambling permits for local nonprofits

The Boulder City Business License Liquor Board unanimously approved two special-event gambling permits at its April 28, 2025 meeting: one for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation's "Heart of the Community" gala on May 10, 2025, and one for Emergency Aid of Boulder City's 50/50 raffle on Oct. 25, 2025.
A city staff member told the board the Hospital Foundation, a licensed Boulder City nonprofit that supports the local hospital, submitted a satisfactory application to hold a raffle with ticket prices "about $25," with proceeds directed to the hospital. "Applicant has met all the requirements in 4 dash 4 of the Boulder City code," the staff member said.
Staff also reported Emergency Aid of Boulder City's application for a 50/50-style raffle to be held at Saint Andrews Catholic Church; the staff presentation estimated the ticket "price value" at about $500 and said the application met section 4-4 requirements. The board approved both permits by voice vote without recorded opposition.
The Hospital Foundation event is scheduled for May 10 at the Boulder Creek Pavilion; Emergency Aid's raffle is scheduled for Oct. 25 at Saint Andrews Catholic Church. City staff asked the board to approve the permits after confirming the applicants met the requirements of Boulder City code section 4-4.
