Boulder City begins pool design RFQ process; pickleball construction to start in March

Boulder City staff told the Parks and Recreation Commission Jan. 27 that final funding for a new municipal pool is now in place and that the city has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) to identify a qualified pool design firm.
Bids for the RFQ close in February, staff said. After the RFQ review, staff will select a design firm from submitted packets that demonstrate experience on similar projects; no firm was selected at the meeting.
Separately, the city has begun coordination with contractor Las Vegas Paving on the first phase of pickleball construction. Staff said the contractor must obtain required permits and that construction should begin in March, with an anticipated completion within about 90 days of the start date.
Staff described next steps as RFQ evaluation and designer selection; construction scheduling depends on permit issuance and contractor availability.
