Summary
Operations staff reported interior and exterior work at Lake Wylie High and Liberty Hill Elementary progressing on schedule, noted key milestones including terrazzo pours, canopy and cladding work, and first furniture deliveries beginning May 11 for the high school.
Operations staff told the Clover School District board that construction at Lake Wylie High School and Liberty Hill Elementary is progressing and that they currently see no schedule red flags.
"Lake Wylie High School interior work is progressing: flooring, doors, and finishes are moving forward," Dr. Hopkins (speaker 7) said, walking board members through interior photos and a video tour that showed science labs, the cafeteria terrazzo pour, auxiliary gym finishes and athletic-area work. Hopkins reported that 75% of metal cladding is in place and that the bus canopy for the drop-off area is about 90% complete.
On Liberty Hill, Hopkins said roofing, cladding and interior inspections are advancing; playground delivery and installation were scheduled to begin in April and extend into May, and the vendor New Idea is expected to begin furniture deliveries for Lake Wylie on May 11 and for Liberty Hill in the following weeks. He told the board there have been no red flags to the construction schedule at this point and invited board members to sign up for site visits.
Board members asked logistical questions and were told that further interior video and photos will be shared at future updates. No formal board action was required for the operations update.
