Council introduces ordinance to ban camping in public places; unanimously reappoints representatives to health boards

At the May 13 Boulder City Council meeting, the council introduced Bill No. 2079, an ordinance amending Title 7 (police regulations), Chapter 5 (public land use) of the Boulder City Municipal Code to prohibit camping, sleeping and storing personal property in public places. The council waived further reading except for the title and scheduled the item for consideration at the May 27, 2025 council meeting.
On appointments, the city clerk asked the council to reappoint the mayor to the Southern Nevada Health District Board and Paul Klaus to the public health advisory board for the term July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027. Council member moved and another seconded a combined motion to reappoint both officials; the council approved the motion by unanimous voice vote.
