Finance committee votes to enter closed session to discuss employee performance

Chair read the closed-session statutory language required for personnel discussions: “Consideration of motion to convene in closed session pursuant to statute 19.851 c considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the government body has jurisdiction to employ or exercise responsibility to wit for purpose of discussing employee performance evaluation and reconsideration of employment terms.”
The clerk called the roll: John Rickheimer (excused), Stacy Hessel (yes), Mark Hellwig (absent), Tom Duffy (yes), Jeff Haney (yes). Chair recorded the motion as carried and the committee entered closed session; the chair said the committee would reconvene in open session immediately following and may discuss or take official action on matters discussed in closed session.
The committee did not record any personnel decisions in the public record during the March 12 session; any actions would be subject to later public-minute disclosure as required by law.
