Summary
The Plan Commission approved exterior modifications at 10551 South Oakview Parkway — adding one drive‑in dock door with ramp and a new window — with applicant architect stating the ramp will serve smaller trucks while semis will use existing docks.
Oak Creek’s Plan Commission approved site and architectural changes at a multi‑tenant industrial building in Oak View Business Park, 10551 South Oakview Parkway. The proposal adds one drive‑in dock door with an associated ramp on the rear (west) elevation and a window on the east (street‑facing) elevation; materials and fenestration will match existing building elements.
Staff said the building totals roughly 155,000 square feet with 22 loading docks and two existing drive‑in doors. Architect Eric Ortega of Partners and Design Architects told the commission the new ramp is intended for smaller truck deliveries and not for semis, which will continue to use the existing docks. The ramp will include guardrail and be aligned with other dock doors. Interior modifications for office space adjacent to the new window were also described.
A commissioner moved to approve the site and architectural plans with standard conditions (code compliance; approval expires if a building permit is not issued in 12 months). The motion passed.
The applicant must coordinate final construction and permitting with engineering and building inspection prior to implementing the ramp and window changes.
