School police chief outlines training plan and Raptor rollout for Perkiomen Valley SD

He also said the district will run mandatory first‑aid, CPR, STOP‑the‑BLEED and AED training during next week’s in‑service day in coordination with school nurses and will distribute county stop‑the‑bleed kits obtained through a grant.
On visitor accountability technology, Chief Miller said the district met this week with Raptor representatives and plans to roll the platform out at three schools with vendor‑led presentations and building‑level Q&A. “We intend to roll it out to [Middle School] West, Schwenksville and South this coming Wednesday afternoon,” he said, adding IT and building staff will pilot screens that can flash building alerts.
The committee also heard that a new bell system being tried at the high school appears to pair with the Raptor platform, which staff said should improve incident messaging and student accounting during drills.
Why it matters: the updates show the district is using a mix of grant funding and in‑house training to bolster first response, medical readiness and visitor management. Committee members asked for progress reports as the Raptor pilot and physical‑security drills proceed.
