The Records Commission approved the minutes of Oct. 16 and voted to approve an engineering request to dispose of records, then discussed how long to keep volunteer boards-and-commissions applications on file.
The chair said they had "talked to the law department about this" and noted that human resources "keep theirs for 2 years," and asked whether the proposal should be presented next time "in the form of an RC 2." A committee member replied that the commission has "a lot of very old ones on file" and called that practice "very deceptive." The chair said they would bring the RC 2 at the next meeting.
Earlier in the session a committee member moved to approve the Oct. 16 minutes and a second was recorded; the chair called for the question and members responded "aye." The chair then introduced the RC 3 request from engineering to dispose of records; a committee member moved to approve the disposal, a second was recorded and the commission voted in favor.
At the end of the meeting the chair called for a motion to adjourn; the motion and a second were recorded and the meeting concluded. One committee member said, "This will be my last meeting so it's been a pleasure."
