Council appoints four members to Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission

Staff presented the applicants and their backgrounds: Linda Placencia (four years of prior service) was appointed to a term expiring Jan. 31, 2028; Anel Gaeta, Julia Diaz and Juan Perez were appointed to terms expiring Jan. 31, 2030. Each candidate introduced themselves and spoke briefly about volunteer service and interest in supporting youth and recreation programs.
Council members thanked the applicants for their willingness to serve. Each appointment was made by individual motion and approved by roll call with a 5–0 vote.
The new commissioners may be invited to an orientation meeting with staff to discuss upcoming projects and expectations.
