Summary
Facilities staff reported a high-school roofing project underway with AAA Roofing and installation of a new shade canopy at Garfield Elementary; maintenance, technology and transportation departments reported 90-day work-order closure rates ranging from 88%–97% by bucket.
Facilities and operations staff briefed the San Felipe-Del Rio CISD board on March 30 about ongoing capital and maintenance activity across the district.
Hector Chapa said contractor AAA Roofing of Brackettville is working at the high school; crews started during spring break and resumed work when materials arrived. The roof work will progress by building and is expected to follow the sequence of installation (cover ply, base ply, cap sheet). A new shade canopy was installed outside Garfield Elementary during spring break by the district's playground vendor.
Chapa provided 90-day work-order statistics for several departments. For maintenance he reported 845 work-order tickets received over the past 90 days with 762 closed (a 90% closure rate). Breakouts by age category were presented: 0–15 days (194 received, 174 closed); 16–30 days (152 received, 141 closed); 31–60 days (315 received, 278 closed); 61–90 days (184 received, 169 closed). Technology and transportation departments also reported ticket volumes and closure rates in the same period.
Board members commended the high closure rates and asked clarifying questions about metrics. There were no action items associated with the facilities report at this meeting.
