Summary
Stevens County approved a $44,751 allocation of 2026 state affordable housing aid to the county HRA for single‑family development, heard an HRA update on Prairie Vista, and appointed Mackenzie Roloff to fill a vacant HRA seat through 07/31/2027.
The Stevens County Board voted to allocate $44,751 of 2026 state affordable housing aid to the county Housing and Redevelopment Authority for single‑family home development and approved an HRA board appointment.
HRA Executive Director Jessica Kerwin updated the board on recent funding rounds and local projects, saying the county will reapply to the Federal Home Loan Bank and Minnesota Housing with application deadlines in May and July and that work continues on a rehabbed single‑family home (plumbing and electrical mostly complete; siding, windows and interior rehab remain).
The board moved and passed the allocation of $44,751 to the Stevens County HRA for single‑family home development. Kerwin also noted a donated lot in Donnelly under consideration for the next project and said the HRA will post applications for buyers when the rehab is ready.
The board additionally approved naming Mackenzie Roloff to fill the remainder of Bruce Malo’s term on the Stevens County HRA board, through July 31, 2027.
The HRA will proceed with applications and debriefs with funding entities to strengthen future submissions and will report back to the board on application outcomes and project timelines.
