SNCOG approves minutes, adopts logo No. 3 and sets regional priorities

The Southern Nevada Council of Governments opened its March 31 meeting in Las Vegas, approved the Feb. 24, 2026 meeting minutes by voice vote and then moved to agenda items including a logo selection and the COG’s first-year regional priorities.
Staff presented three logo mockups. Members discussed practical differences—largely shades of blue and ease of reproduction for jackets, T-shirts and embroidery—and agreed option number 3 was the easiest for graphic and embroidery work. “Number 3 will probably be the easiest, for the graphic art and the embroidery artist to do,” one council member said. The motion to adopt logo No. 3 passed by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
Following the branding decision, members spent the bulk of the meeting discussing and ranking nine suggested regional topics. After deliberation the board designated a combined topic—group homes, child-care licensing and related conditional-use and special-use permitting—as the first focus and directed staff to prepare a scoping report and convene relevant jurisdictional and state staff for next steps.
The chair thanked staff and members for their engagement and adjourned the meeting.
