Ferndale middle‑school robotics team 'Giggle Pickles' showcases robot and seeks fundraising support

Kaylor described the team’s work since August through state championships in December and subsequent upgrades preparing for the world competition in Houston. The coach noted ongoing wiring and reliability tweaks and asked the community to be understanding of the demonstration caveats.
To raise travel and entry costs, the team plans a family friendly Go Comedy fundraiser on March 28 (advance tickets $20; $25 at the door) and a planned Chipotle fundraiser, Kaylor said, asking attendees to scan the QR code on the team’s flyers or buy tickets at the door.
Mayor and council invited the team for a photo and the community applauded the demonstration.
What’s next: The team will compete out of state at the world championships and organizers will continue fundraising to cover travel and entry fees.
