Saddleback Valley USD introduces a dozen new administrators ahead of school year

Superintendent Dr. Turner introduced more than a dozen new or newly appointed administrators — principals, directors and coordinators — and outlined their experience as the district prepares for the fall term and the arrival of roughly 23,000 students.
Superintendent Dr. Turner introduced a large cohort of new and newly promoted administrators joining Saddleback Valley Unified School District ahead of the new school year.
New district leaders introduced or recognized included Yvonne Essling (Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services), Erin Splain (Director of Student Services), Casey Baumgarz (Director of SELPA), Brandy Ramirez (District Coordinator of College and Career Readiness), Justin Samfield (principal, Silverado High School), Sean/Shawn Bezey (coordinator, special education), Jason Farrell (coordinator, student services), Garrett Kirk (Del Lago Elementary principal), Alfredo Torres (Lake Forest Elementary principal), Tiffany Klein (assistant principal, Melinda Heights Elementary), Allison Brunner (Portola Hills principal) and Nathan Garrett (assistant principal of activities, Mission Viejo High School). The superintendent summarized each individual’s prior experience and credentials.
District leadership and trustees welcomed the new administrators and encouraged the community to engage with principals and staff during the start of the school year. The superintendent also noted the district’s certificated orientation for roughly 75 new certificated employees, and reported that the speech‑language positions have been filled by district hires.
The board thanked staff and the new leaders and said it looks forward to seeing them on campus during the coming weeks.
