Commission adopts rules of procedure, preserves option to use consent agenda

The Marion County Commission voted to adopt a rules-of-procedure code, Resolution 2026-15, during the March 30 meeting.
The resolution formalizes meeting processes, including options for a consent agenda. County legal counsel explained the code "contemplates" use of a consent agenda and preserves the commission's ability to pull individual items for separate discussion. "You can also specify several things ... we don't want those in the consent agenda," counsel said, describing ways to exclude bills or items that raise conflicts.
The board approved the resolution after brief discussion and a roll-call style voice vote, and requested staff return with any amendments necessary to reflect the board's preferences.
