At the March meeting the School District of New Berlin board announced several formal approvals after closed-session deliberations. The board voted to approve a superintendent contract extension, certified staff contracts for 2026–27, administrative contracts for 2026–27, employment performance and compensation matters, and an updated employee handbook.
A motion to recess into closed session was made under Wisconsin law to discuss the superintendent contract extension, approval of closed-session minutes, certified staff and administrative conduct matters, and employment performance and compensation matters; the roll call to enter closed session recorded "Yes" from Miss Crosby, Mister Zielinski, Mister Helmer, Miss Konnick and Miss Schultz. After closed session board members returned to open session and the motions announced from closed session were each moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Separately, the board approved the 2027–28 school year calendar following clarification from administrators that the calendar includes an extended Thanksgiving break and a winter break. The consent agenda (including March 9 minutes and field trip applications for HOSA, DECA and IKE Music Nashville, plus financial reports) was also approved earlier by motion.
The board recorded motions and approvals by standard meeting procedure; individual vote tallies for the post-closed-session approvals were not read into the public record beyond the chair's announcement that each "motion passes." The board listed upcoming meeting dates and adjourned the meeting.
