City staff said the change is purely conforming: the content already resides in the recently adopted chapter 30 (zoning code), and the cleanup reduces the risk of inconsistent references in the municipal code. "With that process being complete and that ordinance having taken effect already, it is appropriate for us to just clean this up so we don't have any possibility for inconsistent references within the code," staff said.
A motion to approve the first reading passed on a roll call and will return for a second reading; if passed a second time, the ordinance would go into effect approximately 30 days later.
