The Beardstown City Council on Nov. 19 approved proposals from Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust for workers’ compensation, liability and unemployment insurance covering Dec. 1, 2024–Nov. 30, 2025 (work comp and liability) and Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025 (unemployment). Chris Baer moved the motion, Eric Harbin seconded it, and the measure passed by a 7–0 roll call vote; Alderpersons Baer, Buhlig, Culves, Davis, Harbin, Schramm and Taylor voted yes and Dawn Seward was absent.
