Beardstown approves tentative contract with firefighters union

A motion by Alderperson Eric Harbin, seconded by Alderperson Dawn Seward, "That the tentative agreement between the City of Beardstown and International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3155 representing the Fire and Ambulance Employees be approved," passed by a 5–0 roll call vote. Yeas were Alderpersons Lisa Buhlig, Mary Davis, Eric Harbin, Keith Schramm and Dawn Seward.
The council had earlier voted 5–1 to enter executive session under the statutory exemption for collective bargaining (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2)). Alderperson Harbin registered the sole vote against entering executive session; the motion to enter executive session was moved by Alderperson Dawn Seward and seconded by Alderperson Keith Schramm.
