Borough staff told the Smart Growth Committee there is renewed interest in developing a distribution facility at 611 East Veil Street and that staff will prepare a fuller report and legal agreements for the next meeting.
"They have gone through the preliminary and final processes for the development of that property," Aaron Flook said, summarizing the project's history. He said the project was submitted in 2021, withdrawn, resubmitted and ultimately approved in late 2024 or early 2025, and that the developer is again interested in moving forward.
Flook identified Brian Nagle as representing the developer and named Eli Khan as the individual associated with development activity on the site. Staff said they will coordinate with the borough manager and the solicitor to draft agreements and discuss security requirements, and that consultants are reviewing responses to prior review comments.
A committee member noted that the borough solicitor's firm had declared a conflict on the project and that the borough appointed special conflict counsel, Michael Crotty, to handle legal questions going forward.
Staff committed to provide a staff report and timeline update at next month's meeting.
