Forest Park council appoints Carla Taylor as village clerk; she is sworn in

The Village Council voted to adopt an ordinance appointing Carla Taylor as village clerk and administered the oath of office at the Feb. 23 meeting.
"I wanna take a moment to formally welcome Carla Taylor to the village of Forest Park," Administrator Antler said after the ordinance passed as Ordinance 7-26, noting the recruitment process began in September and that the clerk must be a Forest Park resident and qualified elector. Antler said the village received about 25 to 30 applications and that onboarding will take several months.
After the ordinance passed, Mayor Rory Hoskins invited Taylor forward and administered the oath. Taylor affirmed support for the U.S. and Illinois constitutions and pledged to "perform the duties of the village clerk to the best of my ability," the council recorded.
Council members welcomed Taylor and noted the clerk's office will be important for the upcoming vehicle-sticker sales and business and liquor license renewals. No opposing votes were recorded on the appointment.
Taylor will assume clerk duties while the village completes the transition and provides training; staff said they will present any clerical-policy changes to the council if needed.
