Residents urge action on speeding and historic-site landscaping during public comment

Carol Valdez asked the board to consider measures to slow traffic near the Speedgo/Hilton area, saying speeding poses a risk to children and pedestrians. The board said it would "look at that" and consider signage or enforcement options.
Mary Lou Edwards, speaking on behalf of the historical society, thanked the mayor and the village for a new historic sign that took years to complete and asked the board to support modest landscaping around a local statue. "We would like to call on the beautification committee to get this in hand," Edwards said, urging the village to help plan and secure minimal funds for plantings so the memorial would appear as intended.
Trustees acknowledged both requests and noted the beautification committee and staff would be involved in next steps. No binding commitments of new spending were recorded during public comment.
