Mayor announces new DuPage-area crisis recovery center opening Sept. 2

Mayor Andrew Johnson and staff highlighted a new behavioral health crisis recovery center during the Aug. 18 Warrenville City Council meeting, describing it as a "state-of-the-art behavioral health crisis system" intended to provide alternatives to jail or emergency-room care for people in acute substance-use or mental-health crises.
The mayor said the facility is located at the county complex on Manchester Road (turn north on County Farm to Manchester, then right) and will open Sept. 2. He provided the facility phone number, (630) 627-1700, and urged residents to remember 988 as the national crisis line for behavioral-health emergencies.
Mayor Johnson encouraged aldermen to review an informational brochure distributed to council members and asked residents to consult the DuPage County Health Department's online resources for additional information about services and referrals.
The announcement was informational; no council action was required to open the facility, and the council proceeded to routine agenda business after the remarks.
