The Warrenville City Council approved an omnibus consent agenda on Aug. 18 that included multiple ordinances, amendments, and professional services agreements.
The council waived second readings and passed ordinances updating vehicle repossession and relocation procedures and amending local speed and stop intersection rules to add River Road and several subdivision intersections. The consent agenda also amended purchasing procedures, approved a temporary use permit for Autism Science Foundation events, and included a second amendment to the declaration for Stafford Place.
Council members approved a temporary license agreement allowing construction access and storage on city property at 3 South 511 Batavia Road. The council also authorized professional services agreements: $80,000 with Kimley Horn and Associates Inc. for traffic engineering services and $33,000 with Hitchcock Design Group for Veterans Memorial design work, and a second amendment to Hitchcock’s agreement for final design work at Cerny Park.
The clerk reported invoices paid through Aug. 13 totaling $126,443.43 and the council authorized expenditures for invoices due on or before Sept. 2, 2025, in the amount of $371,397.05.
Alderman Weidner moved to approve the consent agenda; the motion was seconded by Alderman Kreukenberg. The clerk called the roll; Aldermen Agustinovich, Lockett, Weidner, Kreukenberg, Berry, Aschauer, Davalos and Wilkie voted "Aye" and the motion carried.
The items approved on the consent agenda are procedural and contract-level actions; none created immediate new policy changes reported during the meeting.
The council then moved to other business and scheduled a closed session to discuss property sale/lease pricing and probable litigation under the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
