Willow Springs trustees urge residents to report unlicensed solicitors; announce craft fair and youth visit

At the April 25 Village of Willow Springs meeting trustees raised concerns about solicitors operating in town and reminded residents how to verify whether a solicitor is permitted.
Trustees and staff noted the village issues ID badges and stickers to authorized solicitors and that the police maintain the schedule of permitted solicitation dates and locations; residents were urged to call police when they suspect someone is soliciting without a license so officers can check identification and permit status.
Trustee Kennedy highlighted upcoming community events — a craft show on Saturday and a fundraiser on May 17 — and Trustee Micah reminded residents about a pork chop dinner at the community center on the 28th from noon to 5 p.m. President reported that the village recently hosted about 50 students from a state senator’s youth advisory council for a civics program featuring state officials and a mock bill exercise.
The board encouraged residents to use village-issued no-solicitation signs and to contact police with concerns; no formal enforcement actions were announced during the meeting.
