Village of La Grange approves consent agenda including intergovernmental agreements and ordinance amendments

The Village of La Grange Board of Trustees approved a multi-item consent agenda following a motion and second, clearing a package of routine and regulatory items.

The consent package included: a resolution to establish a multijurisdictional task force to deter organized criminal activity and provide mutual aid; an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services; a contract with Landscape Material and Firewood Sales Inc. for leaf-hauling services; an ordinance amending Title 6, Chapter 3, Section 6-3-65 of the Village code regarding vehicle immobilization; and an ordinance amending Chapter 36 of the Village code and repealing a prior ordinance concerning municipal grocery retailer and service occupation taxes. The board also approved closed meeting minutes, regular meeting minutes from Aug. 25, 2025, and a consolidated voucher list.

A trustee announced a recusal from voting on any agenda items related to the village prosecutor. After the recusal, the remaining trustees and President Kugler voted in favor of the consent agenda and the chair announced the matter passed.

Deputy Clerk Jones read the items aloud before the vote; no substantive debate on the individual items was recorded during the meeting. The manager’s office will proceed with the procurement and implementation steps tied to the approved contracts and intergovernmental agreements.

The outcome: the consent agenda was approved. The board did not place any consent item under current business for separate debate.
