Broadview swears in Matthew Martin as fire chief; board hires Frank Capillo as police commander

Chief Martin took the oath of office and told the board he intended to support staff, secure resources and build a department “that reflects excellence, accountability, and pride.” He thanked the mayor, village staff, fellow officers and his family, and pledged to prioritize training and resources for firefighters.
Trustees offered congratulatory comments; no substantive questions or objections were recorded during either appointment vote. The board also continued through a consent agenda and routine business following the personnel votes.
