West end service stable after water main damaged; repair timeline unclear, village says

Administrator Grace told the board that a construction crew working on a bridge struck a water main, causing significant damage to the line that serves the west end of town.
"The water main was hit by a construction company that was working on some for the bridge…That caused an outage that is going to take actually probably a significant amount of time to fully repair or replace that line," Grace said. She identified the contractor involved as Walsh Construction and said the village’s west end is being supplied by the Burridge water system under an intergovernmental connection while repairs proceed.
Grace said there is currently no estimated time of arrival for a full repair and that the water commission is coordinating with Walsh Construction on replacement work. She added that she has spoken with the water commission director multiple times and that residents should not expect additional interruptions while the temporary supply remains in place. The village also said it will circulate an emergency contact link so customers can ensure their contact information is up to date for notifications.
What’s next: the water commission and contractor will work through replacement plans; the village will provide updates to residents as they become available.
