Eisenhower Emergency Communication Center board approves antenna work and CAD upgrade

The Eisenhower Emergency Communication Center board approved two vendor quotes at its Dec. 17 meeting, authorizing $783 for mobile-antenna removal and installation from Alpha Prime and $12,868 for computer-aided dispatch (CAD) interfaces, ImageTrend integration and training from Valor Systems. Both measures passed on roll-call votes, 3-0.

Chief Martin called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. and led the roll call before presenting the expense items. On the Alpha Prime quote, Chief Martin described the work as removal, replacement and installation of antennas and associated labor tied to an engine recently decommissioned and replaced. "Critical equipment needed for communications," Chief Martin said, urging approval. A committee member moved to approve the Alpha Prime quote and the motion passed unanimously.

On the Valor Systems proposal, a committee member said the purchase would help the center "catch up to Broadview" in its ability to provide services. Chief Martin noted that Valor is the center's CAD vendor and explained the package includes desktop and mobile interfaces, an emergency ESO interface, ImageTrend integration, training for agency staff and server-environment work to support dispatching. The board approved the Valor Systems quote 3-0.

The board also approved minutes from the Nov. 19, 2025 meeting by a 3-0 roll-call vote and reviewed a director's report that had been submitted in the interim director's absence. Board members acknowledged call-volume and operational data in the report and commended telecommunicators (TCOs) for handling challenging holiday-period calls. Chief Martin and a committee member urged extra vigilance and offered holiday thanks to staff.

With no new or old business added, the board moved to adjourn; a roll-call vote to adjourn passed 3-0. Chief Mills and Mayor Thompson were recorded absent for the meeting.
