Wauconda board approves HMG agreement to produce ADA transition plan

"This project's within budget," a staff presenter said, noting the village budgeted $100,000 and that HMG's proposal is "just shy of 90,000." Staff recommended the board approve the resolution and move forward with the consultant agreement.
The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution by roll call. Trustees voted to approve the contract authorization; the staff presenter confirmed the proposal aligns with the village's infrastructure asset-management approach and expected to assist public works in prioritizing sidewalk repairs.
The agreement will allow the village to build a prioritized list of improvements and support ADA compliance planning; staff did not provide a start date or a project completion timeline during the public discussion. The board did not amend the consultant's scope during the meeting.
The next procedural step is execution of the agreement with HMG and subsequent work by staff and the consultant to inventory sidewalks and produce the transition plan.
