The Village of Burr Ridge recognized three new police officers during the Aug. 25 board meeting. A department official introduced Alex Perez, Hamza Yaqub and Justin Reammo; staff said two officers will attend the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy starting Sept. 1 and one will begin field training immediately.
The introductions included a brief reception invitation for friends, family and coworkers. No public comments were offered during the meeting’s public-comment period.
During reports and communications, a meeting participant identified as Anita announced the MECCA Moves 5K on Sept. 20 from 8–10 a.m. Trustees also recounted attendance at a U.S. Navy band performance and noted a Burr Ridge property listed in the real-estate section at $10,000,000, calling the publicity "good publicity for the village." The board then moved into executive session to discuss setting a price for sale or lease of public property.
The introductions and community notices were ceremonial and informational; the meeting’s substantive decisions concerned municipal property and a contract award on the evening’s agenda.
