Wauconda board waives bidding, approves up to $75,000 contract with Chadwick Contracting for concrete repairs

Superintendent Marco told the board the village has budgeted about $100,000 a year for concrete repairs and that Chadwick — already mobilized on other village projects — offered pricing lower than the municipal-partnership winning bidder, Everlast Blacktop. Marco said the village had experienced responsiveness problems with Everlast and sought pricing from Chadwick as an alternative.
"We're budgeting around 100,000 each year to address various locations throughout the village," Marco said, and added the requested Chadwick contract would "not exceed $75,000." Trustees asked whether the amount fit the budget and were assured the request was under the planned allocation.
A motion and second to approve the waiver and contract were called, and the roll-call responses recorded in the transcript show multiple trustees answering "yes." The chair announced the motion carried.
The contract authorizes sidewalk and concrete repairs at village locations where deterioration was documented; the work was described as an add-on to Chadwick’s existing mobilized projects in town. The board did not detail a start date in the meeting record.
